Scopus is the world's largest, comprehensive and trusted academic database. The Scopus redesign project with a focus on elevating the user experience for researchers, librarians, and decision-makers seeking authoritative content and analytical depth. The core objective was to help users quickly find relevant, high-quality research, identify leading experts, and gain strategic insights using Scopus metrics and analytical tools.
Insight at First Sight: Helping Users Find What Matters Most on Scopus
The new design streamlines navigation and enhances the discoverability of key features—such as citation data, author profiles, and institution-level metrics—making it easier for users to assess research impact, track trends, and make data-informed decisions. Special attention was given to surfacing Scopus analytics in intuitive ways, enabling users to explore collaboration networks, citation patterns, and top-performing journals with ease.
This redesign involved close collaboration with product stakeholders, UX researchers, and developers to ensure the final experience not only met user needs but also aligned with Scopus’s mission to support research excellence through data-driven insights.
